“I have fought, I have cried. I’ve been broke, I’ve been bruised. Yet at the end of the day, this life is what I still choose.”
10 years of professional theater. 10 years pursuing my one great love.
I find myself completely in awe of the journey I’ve had thus far— one that unraveled in a series of stops and starts but one that’s been nothing short of magical.
My heartfelt gratitude to all the directors and companies I’ve worked with over the last ten years, particularly: 9 Works Theatrical (Rob) ; Repertory Philippines (Tita Joy, Tita Baby, Tita Menchu, Tito Jaime) ; Atlantis Theatrical Entertainment Group (Direk Bobby) ; The Sandbox Collective (Toff) ; Fringe Manila (Andrei) ; GSA (Julian, Andrew) ; and many more. There is an entire village to thank!
Thank you for making me a performer, producer, marketing director, assistant director/director, acting coach, writer, teacher and student.
Special thanks to Ana Valdes-Lim for providing me with foundation during my high school/METTA days; my college prof-mentor-mom Missy Maramara who inspired me to go after this dream and to take this craft seriously; Robbie Guevara who believed in me since my Ateneo blueREP days and gave me my first shot (and many more after that); Anna and Santi for being my theater parents and ever-supportive partners; GSA for the invaluable training and some of the best years of my life; the Sandbox Collective for being my home for the last 6 years; Toff for being my partner, co-captain, anchor and theater husband; my siblings Paolo, Anton and Bettina who have always been my biggest cheerleaders; James for taking on the impossible task of falling in love with an artist and everything that comes with it; most of all, my parents for being my roots and my wings, and for making it possible for me to dream at all. Thank you.
I don’t know what else life has in store for me (and the rest of us dreamers) but I am humbled, honored and ready to take on what comes next. ‘Til this intermission ends and the curtains come up again. ✨
